Commission statements land in the master sheet

An agency got commission statements as CSV files, each with its own columns.

Now one menu in the Google Sheet matches the columns and adds the rows under the last one.

The problem

Every carrier file has its own columns. We paste them in by hand.

  • Each statement comes with its own column names and order.
  • Someone pastes it into the master sheet.
  • Each statement has to land under the right headers.
  • Staff chase paperwork

What we built

  1. One menu. A CSV Import menu inside the sheet.
  2. Pick the files. Drop in one or many CSV files.
  3. Columns matched by name. Each column is matched to the sheet header. Change any with a dropdown.
  4. Fill what is missing. A short form for fields the file did not carry.
  5. Rows added. Rows go under the last one, and the new rows are marked.

What it does every day

  • Statements go in through one menu.
  • Columns match by name.
  • Rows land under the last one.

Each statement lands under the right headers.

Run it again and the new rows go under the last ones.
