The problem

Deductibles go uncollected, and faxed referrals sit until someone types them in.

  • Deductibles went uncollected.
  • Insurance checks gave wrong numbers.
  • Faxed referrals sat until someone typed them in, and payer rules lived in two people’s heads.

What we built

  1. Insurance check first. Checked before the visit and shown as a traffic light.
  2. Referrals read in. Fax and email referrals go straight into the patient list.
  3. The patient’s share. A visit queue and checkout that show it before they leave.
  4. Expected against paid. Remittance files read, so both amounts sit side by side.
  5. Access by role. Role-based access and an audit log.

What changed

Eligibility, referral intake and checkout are live on real data.
